Meet our Founder

Our organization is headed by Daveda Hawkins. She is experienced in working with youth and has brought this know-how into the running of the company. A passion for teaching and seeing youth improve and challenge themselves led her to start up this company and has kept us going thus far.

Daveda Hawkins was introduced to modeling at the tender age of ten as an attempt to combat her extreme shyness. During her early years with Southern Enterprise Charm School, she quickly grew from student to Instructor. There she was responsible for the delivery of instruction to children, teens and adults as well as choreography and production of fashion shows. At The University of Akron, she produced fashion shows for the local charter of The NAACP and Black United Students. In April of 2003, she incorporated Segami International Inc. and led the organization successfully for seven years. Serving as President and CEO, delivering exceptional instruction as an instructor, grooming exceptional students into Junior Instructors, producing fashion show graduations, overseeing a dynamic parent committee and soliciting the advice of experts in the industry all lead to the success of Segami International, Inc. In 2014. As a career coach for Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Mrs. Hawkins recognized that all graduating youth were not interested in attending a 2–4-year college, vocational program or the military. Through many conversations with students regarding their future goals, she realized that careers in the arts could easily become another career path to explore. She began to bring in individuals from various art inspired industries to speak to the students and talk about their journeys. From there, the idea of B-Elite Learning Academy Inc. was formed.

The target market for our organization includes youth 7th grade through 12th grade. This includes youth that lack resources (social, financial, and familial support) May be homeless, in poverty, immigrants/children of immigrants, LGBTQ, experienced the juvenile criminal system, special needs, have children of their own, etc. and children who have shown great potential in the classroom (for example GPA) or have expressed interest in one or more of the tracks and need an additional support system. We believe that learning at such a young age will give them a huge advantage in gaining mastery over these disciplines and also able fit in into different sector in the business world.

Youth in grades 7th – 12th face the challenge of fitting into professional careers, and the ability to become an entrepreneur due to the inability to explore their potential while they are young. A big factor behind this can be traced to inadequate teaching of these disciplines to youth from a young age. Most times, youth possess just the theoretical knowledge about these disciplines, and are left playing catch up to their contemporaries in other parts of the world, who have access to better teaching and understanding of these disciplines.
